I’ve struggled trying to find healthy energy especially after I’ve gotten sober. In the past, I would drink several cups of coffee a day to be artificially energized and ready for the day. However, coffee crashes were always the worst.
Now, I’m going to give you my 2 week update on how everything is going on this incredible health journey.
I’ve finally been able to reduce my caffeine intake! Before I was drinking roughly 2 cups of coffee and 2 espresso shots a day. It was a tone of caffeine that led to major crashes, odd sleeping schedules, and overall fatigue.
Just 2 weeks on Joel Marion’s diet, I already have reduced my caffeine intake by half and am only drinking one cup of coffee and one espresso shot a day! Never in a million years did I think was going to be able to reduce my caffeine intake, and I can’t thank this book enough for that.
Also, the lemon water in the morning has helped so much with energy and hydration. Here’s an excerpt from the book explaining it:

Overall Health and Self-Image
One of the best parts of this diet is the way I look at my body. I haven’t lost a ton of weight, but I am happy with the way my body feels. Also, I notice when I do physical exercise, I feel stronger and look leaner. I’ve also dropped about 1% body fat!
One of the best parts about this diet is the food. I’ve done many diets in the past that have food that just tastes satisfactory. Having delicious and exciting food that’s easy to prepare and that you actually look forward to makes the diet experience more of a lifestyle change.
