Ugh...the struggle is REAL!
I've always thought that my skin wasn't too shabby. I mean, hey, it's not perfect or insanely soft like baby-bottom status, but it's been relatively decent to me. However, when I got back from Korea after visiting on holiday, I realized that in the grand scheme of things, this is definitely not true. Korean's have PERFECT skin! And when I mean perfect, I'm talking seriously flawless, porcelain, beauty baby-doll skin as soft as a baby-bottoms status.
So how exactly does one achieve this ultimate level of awesomeness for their skin? Well, for one, you can follow a serious Korean Beauty regimen. Or, you could just get an amazing Korean Cushion foundation and cover up your flaws with ease, which is exactly what I chose to do. (If you want even heavier coverage, check out regular Korean foundations.
Since there's an insanely vast amount of options to choose from when shopping in Myeong Dong (one of the best places to visit in Seoul. If you wanna check it out for yourself, check out the best time to visit Seoul and see for yourself!), I honestly just walked into Etude House because it was so damn cute in there. I came across the incredible Etude House Any Cushion foundation. Little did I know this product would be life changing.
PACKAGING
The packing is, honestly, perfect in my opinion. I love things pink. I love things shiny. This fulfills both of these quotas, and therefore I love it. Etude House was also having a special sale at the time of purchase and came with a free foundation brush, which I use religiously now.
Like most compacts, there's a little mirror built into the inside of the packaging. I love this because you can do quick fixes on the go without having to pull out a separate mirror. Also, since the packaging is pretty clean and mess free, the mirror stays spot free so you don't have to keep wiping it off to see your face.
COLOR MATCH
I'd consider my skin tone to be relatively lighter compared to my fellow Californian companions, but apparently I require the darkest shade that they offer (according to the Korean sales person). At first, I wasn't convinced, but shockingly, this shade matches my skin tone PERFECTLY! I got it in "Tan" (yeah...weird right haha).
APPLICATOR
As I mentioned before, the deal that I purchased this product with came with a handy foundation brush, which I use now regularly. However, if you're more of a hands-on kind of person, the cushion sponge is perfect for this. It's lightweight and pats on product pretty well. It blends product evenly so you don't have to worry about streaks and spottiness.
BEFORE AND AFTER
So here's my face without makeup. As you can see, I tend to have really dry skin and some weird redness around my nose (I'm allergic to cats but I still have my two fur babies despite the sneezing). I don't generally break out, but I have uneven color on my chin for some odd reason.
So here's half of my face with the foundation on and half off. The left side of my face (and your right) is with the product on. As you can see, it evened out my skin ton especially on my chin. You can see the finish is pretty dewy and ads more moisture compared to the other clean side. Also, the redness is non-existent (yay!).
The above picture is the side of my face without the foundation.
And that's the other half with the product on.
