[Review] The Yotel New York at Times Square West

The Yotel is SO me! I didn't know what to expect, all I knew was that it was a pod hotel, so I imagined that it was extremely tiny (it was not). Also I didn't realize that there was so many neon pink touches throughout. The room prices during my stay were about $119, which is insane, since the hotel is located in the Times Square area. I remember trying to book a hotel room in SF a couple years ago and no being able to find anything below $200.

The best part of the Yotel is the fact that it is so technologically advanced. The downstairs area has several computers for check in, so you never even have to speak to anyone! (How Japanese of you). If for some reason the self check-in computers don't work, you can simply go upstairs to the 2nd floor for regular check-ins.

I was booked in Room 2524, in a premium queen room. The room comfortably sleeps two people and comes with an awesome button controlled mattress that moves the bed to a work/tv/eating position. It even converts into a sofa!

Yotel Closet

I love that there's a meal tray located right next to the bed for easy access.

So thoughtful, a little indented area to conveniently store your tv remote for easy access! 

Awesome twisty, bendy reading light. There's two of them on each side of the headboard.

Yotel Bathroom

Love the ambiance of the bathroom vanity mirror lighting.

The shower features a monsoon shower head and Get Up brand shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Love this control station below, which allows you to change the mood lighting around the tv, which is all neon toned.

On one of the channels, there a guided meditation channel, which I loved and used!

Yotel Extras

Hello! The coolest thing about the Yotel is it Yobot. The Yobot is a robot that automatically stores your luggage for you for the day! It costs $2 per bag and I'm assuming you don't have to tip the Yobot afterwards! I love how the Yotel eliminates all need to deal with human beings at all if you so choose.

The Yotel Vending Machines. Welcome to the future of vending machines! I love that you can order travel essentials easily from these futuristic vending machines. I wish every hotel in the world would offer travel adaptors at their vending machines, external battery chargers and iphone cables, amazing!

Yotel Breakfast

Breakfast and Brunch is served by the hotel's restaurant Green Fig, which offers a mediterranean fusion cuisine. 

Here's the cafe on the 4th floor where you can grab coffee, pastries and most coffee shop essentials.

Yotel Wifi

Free wifi is offered throughout the entire hotel. It was fast and efficient and no password is needed, it just automatically connects!

Yotel NYC Parking

If you want to park at the hotel, there is self-parking available for $45, and $62 for valet parking.

Yotel New York Rooftop and Bar

Yotel's gorgeous rooftop bar overlooks 42nd street and is 7,000 sq ft. Breakfast and Lunch is served here during the spring and summer. There is a heated and covered area of the terrace and the open air, outdoor terrace is open from May to September. The food is served by Social Drink and Food and features street food inspired dishes. There's a great happy hour also. Here is a link to the menu

Yotel New York Restaurant

Yotel's star restaurant is Green Fig, which features Mediterranean fusion cuisine. The menu features many plates that are optimal for sharing. They also have a delicious cocktail menu. Popular items are the Mezze Plate featuring hummus, roasted egglant, pita bread and labneh and the Branzino with fennel, potatos amd labneh.
