We were so excited to get to take a tour of Eva Air's Hello Kitty plane, returning back to LAX after many years away flying a Paris route! I was so sad on a previous trip to Thailand, flying Eva Air's Royal Laurel Class, because I had wanted to try to fly the Hello Kitty themed plane but at that time a couple years ago, it wasn't flying out of LAX.
The Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand Jet featuring Hello Kitty and all her friends is now flying LAX to the Taoyuan Airport in Taiwan on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Click here to find out more details about the plane's flight schedules.
The route leaves LAX at 11:55 am and arrives in TPE at 5:05 pm the next day with a flight time of 14 hours and 10 minutes. The Hello Kitty adorned Boeing 777-300ER features three cabins: (Royal Laurel) business class, premium economy and economy
Eva Air has a fleet of seven of these Sanrio themed airplanes traversing the world including my favorite, the gudetama themed plane.
The fun of flying on the Hello Kitty jet starts during check-in, where you'll being seeing Sanrio signage and receive themed boarding passes and baggage tags. The cabin crew is dressed up with light green Sanrio aprons for added fun. Make sure to ask for a photo with the flight staff!
Eva Air Royal Laurel Class (Business Class) For this particular plane, you are fine flying economy or premium economy. All classes get ample amounts of Sanrio goodies, the business class section isn't treated to more treats than the others.
As you can see, all the seats come with themed headrest covers and each seat has a Sanrio pillow. There are also tons of Hello Kitty and Sanrio goodies that are available in-flight and duty free via the EVA Sky Shop
Eva Air Hello Kitty Meal
Here are two samples of the meals that are served during the duration of the flight from LAX to TPE.
