I just spent an idyllic week in Loreto, Mexico at the fabulous Villa del Palmar. I was there for dessert week which made the trip extra epic. To be honest, I was not too familiar with Loreto previous to my trip but I am so glad that I got to know this new destination. It's just a quick two hour flight from LAX on Alaska Airlines. After arriving, its just a 25 minute drive from the airport.
The weather for the entire duration of the trip was about 89-90 degrees. The Villa del Palmar is an all-inclusive resort and you can really just spend you entire time at the resort, spa, restaurants, and private beach hanging out. If you're more of an active type of person, there are tons of excursions available including whale watching in the Winter, boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, golfing, hiking and so much more. It's truly a magical place, in fact Jacques Cousteau calls Loreto "The World's Aquarium" and "The Galapagos of North America". If you are a wildlife lover, you are in for a special treat.
A couple of notable things that I especially appreciated at the hotel were the key wristband, the on-site medical center and the store. I've never seen the key wristband before, similar to a wristband that you get at a festival, all you have to do it swipe the wristband against the key sensor and the door unlocks. The wristband is fully waterproof so I kept it on for all 5 days with no problem.
I love that there was an on-site medical center. Luckily I didn't have to use it, but it was reassuring to know that you could easily seek medical attention. Lastly, the on-site store was super convenient. It wasn't like the typical, limited hotel shop. The store was similar to a Mexican 7-11, fully stocked with a wide assortment of food, drinks, toiletries and more.
A special thanks to Noelle Ibrahim and Zayra Arroyo for making this trip possible.

The Sabila Spa and Wellness Center
One of the major highlights of the resort is the award winning Sabila Spa. It's a scenic 39,000 square foot area and features herbs and plants in its treatments that are native to Baja California Sur.
The spa has been called one of the Most Fascinating Spa Resorts in the World and is one of SpaFinder's Best Spas in Mexico. The spa has a full menu of treatments and I love that you can request fresh aloe, straight from the leaves for sun burns the ultimate skin hydration.
I only had time to sample the 25 minute back massage and it was heavenly.
One of my favorite spa features were these individual salt soaking tubs.

My One Bedroom Suite
I'm a hotel room junkie so I could just hang out in a beautiful hotel room all day. Villa del Palmar's suite didn't disappoint and it was invigorating to wake up each morning to the amazing views.

I stayed in the one bedroom suite which was huge! It could easily fit a family and included is a clothing washer and dryer and a kitchen with everything that you could possibly need to cook a meal.

Bedroom

The balcony of the room was massive and I was surprised that the entire balcony belongs to the suite, it's not shared with any other rooms. You could literally host a party for 30-40 people in this suite and be totally comfortable.
What's also special is that the two sided balcony gives you two entirely different views, one of the beautiful property and pools, and one of the scenic desert scene right outside.

I was super impressed with the kitchen since I love to cook, so I wanted to show all the accessories that were included, it was a fully stocked kitchen in terms of supplies.

The Food
As an all inclusive resort, all meals at the property's restaurants and room service are included. I was lucky enough to try out all of the restaurants. I'll be posting another in-depth article about the food at the resort, for now just feast your eyes on this.
